We're looking for an experienced CNC OPERATOR to join our team.
Location Profile:
ZR Tactical Solutions was founded in 2010 in Central Indiana. More than a decade later, ZRTS is a renowned manufacturer of precision upgrade parts for the firearms and defense industry. In addition to parts manufacturing, ZRTS also performs CNC and manual milling operations on clients' equipment and does occasional jobber manfucaturing.
Position Summary:
The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and conventional machining equipment to produce precision components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates with a range of experience are encouraged to apply.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machine tools to produce parts
- Set up machines and tools based on production instructions and blueprints
- Perform basic to advance in-process inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards
- Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings, including use of measurement tools
- Assist with troubleshooting and making machine or process adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including daily chip and coolant removal
- Follow established safety protocols and quality procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and support departments
Required Skills:
- Experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and inspection practices
- Understanding of machining concepts and mechanical processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different machine platforms and tasks
- Ability to lift to 50lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Exposure to multi-axis CNC machines (3–5 axis)
- Open to candidates with varying levels of experience
Work Environment:
- ZRTS is a small business where you'll work closely with the whole team every day, including ownership
- ZRTS is located in Noblesville, IN
- Hours are Monday-Friday, 0700-1630

Level of Education:
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
- A machinist certificate is a plus.

We are also looking for a shipping/assembly person at our Noblesville location.
Position Summary:
The Assembly/Shipper is responsible for shipping webstore orders and assembling ZRTS parts and parts kits. This role requires attention to detail, , and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates with a range of experience are encouraged to apply.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Pack and ship webstore orders via our shipping software
- Manage packaging inventory
- Trouble-shoot invalid shipping addresses - including direct customer contact where necessary
- Inspect outgoing parts and parts kits for accuracy
- Assemble parts and parts kits such as guide rods and magazine extensions
- Perform basic in-process inspections to ensure parts meet quality standards
- Follow established safety protocols and quality procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and support departments
- Answer phone calls
Required Skills:
- Experience operating windows-based computers and software
- Ability to read and understand shipping addresses
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different machine platforms and tasks
- Ability to lift to 50lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a fast-paced environment that relies on self-motivation
- Open to candidates with varying levels of experience
